"Want to start a series now"

Edin Terzic was happy after BVB’s 5-0 win over VfB Stuttgart. However, he didn’t want to be too exuberant at the press conference. “We don’t want to be satisfied with a win,” said the Borussia Dortmund coach. “We want to start a series now.”

The early lead helped BVB on the way to clear success, the 39-year-old admitted, “but we stayed on it. We had really good counter-pressing in the first half”. Above all, Dortmund scored “team goals”. “We conquered the balls as a team and combined them as a team so that we had enough time to get into the penalty area,” analyzed Terzic.

It’s good for him “not to have to scold so much”. He still has to worry – at least as far as the staff is concerned. “Nico felt a little something on his calf,” Terzic explained the short break in the game in the first half.

But he “signaled that things would continue for him, even at half-time. Nevertheless, we took him down around the 60th minute so as not to let the risk become too great.” The calf got a bit tight, which is why Schlotterbeck ended the lap of honor with a limp. The player’s feeling is “positive and optimistic that it’s nothing wild”.

At Marco Reus, however, the break could last a little longer. According to Terzic, it is better to do without one or the other game than to end up having to do without the captain for a long time. The coach was not more specific. Donyell Malen, on the other hand, was absent due to a small infection. “Actually, he should be in the starting XI,” Terzic gave an insight into his plans. But there is hope that the Dutchman will be back on Tuesday. Then it’s up to BVB against Manchester City.
