Wirtz youngest Bundesliga player with 50 appearances

Florian Wirtz rushes from record to record in the Bundesliga. The young national player from Bayer Leverkusen became the youngest player in the upper house with 50 appearances thanks to his starting line-up nomination on Wednesday against TSG Hoffenheim.
“You miss the adjectives,” said Bayer coach Gerardo Seoane at the press conference on Tuesday, “he makes a very grounded impression. He is very willing to develop further.”
The midfielder replaced the previous record holder Giovanni Reyna at the age of 18 years and 226 days. The Dortmund player was 35 days older in his 50th game. Ex-Leverkusen-based Kai Havertz, who reached the brand at the age of 18 and 307 days, slips into third place.

1. Florian Wirtz / Bayer Leverkusen, on December 15, 2021, 18 years, 226 days
2. Giovanni Reyna / Borussia Dortmund, on August 27, 2021, 18 years, 261 days
3. Kai Havertz / Bayer Leverkusen, on April 14, 2018, 18 years, 307 days
