In the game against SV Werder Bremen, BVB striker Youssoufa Moukoko was injured and replaced in the first half.
In a duel with Bremen midfielder Leonardo Bittencourt, the 18-year-old was knocked down in the 25th minute of the game, whereupon he lay down and had to be treated by Dortmund doctors.
Moukoko finally left the field with a limp, but returned to the pitch after a short break. Shortly thereafter, however, he signaled to BVB-Bank that he could finally no longer go on.
After the game, BVB trainer Edin Terzic commented on Moukoko’s injury: “We still don’t have a diagnosis and have to wait until we see the pictures on Monday. But unfortunately it doesn’t look that good.”
The striker was substituted for Sebastién Haller in the 29th minute. The Frenchman was initially to be rested for the Champions League game against Chelsea on Wednesday, but unexpectedly made his next appearance in the black and yellow shirt early on.
