Zoff between Salihamidzic and Kahn because of Choupo-Moting?

In 2021 there was allegedly a dispute between Hasan Salihamidzic and Oliver Kahn at FC Bayern over Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting. At least that’s what former FCB player Mario Basler claims.

There was “a bit of a fight between Oli and Brazzo,” said Basler in the fan talk sports1: “Kahn only wanted to give Choupo-Moting a one-year contract. But Brazzo gave him a two-year contract without informing Oliver. Things weren’t so clear for a few weeks between Oli and Brazzo.”

Choupo-Moting switched from Paris Saint-Germain to FC Bayern in 2020. A year later, his contract on the Isar was extended by two years. The 33-year-old striker is currently shining with strong performances, which is why his contract is to be extended again.

As the sports picture reported on Wednesday, there is a “tendency” at FCB to extend the contract with the Cameroon international. “We’re in the middle of the season and are now concentrating fully on the games, then the World Cup will come first. When the time comes, we’ll sit down together. But that’s still very, very early on,” said CEO Oliver Kahn on the subject.

So far, Choupo-Moting has played a total of 69 competitive games for Bayern. He scored 24 goals and prepared eight more goals.
