103 corona cases within one week

The corona pandemic continues to keep the English Premier League firmly under control. On Monday, the league announced that 103 players and officials tested positive for the corona virus between December 20 and 26.

This is the highest number of infections within seven days, previously the “record” was 90 positive tests in the week of December 13-19.

In the current week, 15,185 tests had been performed. Due to numerous cases at various clubs, there had already been 15 game cancellations in the past few weeks.

The German team managers Jürgen Klopp (Liverpool FC) and Thomas Tuchel (Chelsea FC) have been criticizing the league’s handling of the pandemic for weeks. “We’re worried, I’m super worried,” said Tuchel last. Numerous other team managers also agreed with the Germans.
