Champions League dreams of Jürgen Klopp and Liverpool burst

Team manager Jürgen Klopp and Liverpool FC have to bury their remaining hope of reaching the Champions League. Since Manchester United won the catch-up game of matchday 32 against Chelsea 4-1 (2-0) on Thursday, the Reds no longer have a chance of climbing into the top four of the Premier League. Fifth in the table, Liverpool will compete in the Europa League.

Before the season finale on Sunday (5:30 p.m. / Sky), Klopp and Liverpool (66 points) are four points behind Newcastle United in fourth place. Manchester United (72 points) jumped to third place after beating Chelsea.

Casemiro (6th), Anthony Martial (45th + 6th), Bruno Fernandes (73rd, penalty kick) and Marcus Rashford (78th) secured the Red Devils participation in the premier class with their goals, Joao Felix (89th) scored for Chelsea. Already-established champions Manchester City and runners-up Arsenal have also qualified.
