Change to Bayern? Pep Guardiola comments on Kyle Walker's personnel

Manchester City team manager Pep Guardiola is still hoping for Bayern’s courted Kyle Walker to stay. “We want him, yes,” said Guardiola before the game against Munich on Wednesday (12.30 p.m.) in Tokyo: “I know that both clubs are in contact, we will fight for him – and I’m sure Bayern will do the same.”

According to media reports, Bayern have already agreed a two-year contract with Walker with an option for another season. The England international is planned as a replacement for Benjamin Pavard, who is willing to change.

According to reports, a deal could be made on the sidelines of the test match, as a fee of 15 million euros is being discussed for the 33-year-old defender. Walker’s contract with City runs until 2024.

“He has special qualities that are difficult to find anywhere in the world,” Guardiola said on Tuesday. The 52-year-old left it open whether Walker could be used against Bayern.

“He’s our player,” said Guardiola, adding: “We have to play against Bayern, we need the best players, why shouldn’t he play?”
