Chelsea and Newcastle are apparently eyeing Raphinha

Two Premier League clubs may have their eyes on attacking player Raphinha from FC Barcelona. Like the Spanish newspaper Sports reported, Chelsea and Newcastle United are closely monitoring the Brazilian’s situation. The attempts at rapprochement have not yet become really concrete.

Raphinha only switched from Leeds United to Barça last summer and, after a mixed start, has recently established himself in the Catalans’ starting eleven with strong performances. He has three goals and one assist in his last six league games.

Raphinha seems set to stay at Barcelona, especially since he has signed until 2027. And Barça would actually like to keep the 26-year-old, but Raphinha could still be a candidate for sale.

The reason for this is the difficult financial situation of the Blaugrana, who could be forced to sell players before they can bring in new stars again. In this context, Raphinha is apparently assuming that you could even earn more for him than the 58 million euros that were transferred to Leeds in 2022.

Meanwhile, Chelsea were interested in Raphinha last summer. But the Brazil international really wanted to go to Barcelona.

Raphinha has made 36 competitive appearances for Barça so far this season. He scored eight goals and nine assists.
