Club boss Roman Abramovich is retiring from Chelsea

English Premier League club Chelsea released a statement from club owner Roman Abramovich on Saturday evening, in which the 55-year-old explained that handing over responsibility for the Premier League runners-up.
“Throughout my nearly 20-year ownership of Chelsea FC, I have always seen my role as the custodian of the club, whose job is to ensure we are as successful as we can be today and ready for the future, while also playing a positive role for society,” explained the club boss.
Abramovich: “I remain committed to values”
“I have always made decisions in the best interest of the club. I remain committed to those values. That’s why today I’m handing over the responsibility and care of Chelsea to trustees of the Chelsea Foundation,” said the Russian.
“I believe they are in the best position to look after the interests of the club, the players, the staff and the fans at the moment,” he added.
