Consultant expects transfer for one billion euros

Erling Haaland’s agent Rafaela Pimenta is convinced that the Manchester City star striker will be the first footballer to switch for a billion pounds (about 1.144 billion euros). The Brazilian explained this in an interview Sky Sports.

Pimenta said: “I think Erling will be the first player to cost around a billion on a transfer.” The Brazilian explained: “That’s my assessment because if you add up your footballing value, personality value and advertising value, you’re bound to end up at a billion.”

With such a sum, Haaland would pulverize the transfer record. The Brazilian Neymar is currently holding it. He cost 222 million euros when he was transferred from FC Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2017.

Haaland itself was significantly cheaper a few months ago. ManCity transferred 60 million euros to Borussia Dortmund thanks to a fixed fee.

The 22-year-old is now worth significantly more. His start in England was outstanding, Haaland scored 20 goals in 14 games for City and broke several records.

Manchester City: Erling Haaland is under contract until 2027

Haaland’s contract with the English champions runs until 2027. An early extension would be desirable for Pimenta. When asked about this, Mino Raiola’s former right-hand man said: “I hope so. If you (Manchester City’s officials, ed.) want to talk to us today, we’re happy. Why not? That’s always good.”

Pimenta, on the other hand, did not want to comment on an alleged exit clause that Haaland is said to have previously requested in the negotiations with FC Bayern.
