Diaz instead of Bentancur? Tottenham Hotspur probably with a strange error on Deadline Day

When Rodrigo Bentancur was transferred from Juventus to Tottenham Hotspur, a strange faux pas is said to have occurred on Deadline Day.

The Portuguese Newspaper records reports that the Spurs contract initially had a wrong player name: that of the new Liverpool star Luis Diaz.

Accordingly, the north Londoners would have sent Bentancur the draft contract that was intended for their original dream player Diaz. The Spurs wanted to sign the Colombian from FC Porto, but failed with their advertising.

Despite the error and some irritation among the agents, the 24-year-old Bentancur eventually moved to seventh-placed Premier League side for €19m plus bonuses of €6m. Dejan Kulusevski also came to Spurs from Juventus Turin, the Swede is on loan for the time being, with a purchase option of 35 million euros.

Winger Luis Diaz, on the other hand, joined Liverpool FC. The Reds were able to convince FC Porto with a 45 million offer. Additional bonuses can increase the transfer fee to 60 million euros.
