Ex-Salzburger Hee-Chan Hwang targeted by Jesse Marsch

The Red Bull influence at Leeds United could continue to increase. Now ex-Salzburg attacker Hee-Chan Hwang is also said to be hiring on Elland Road.

As sky reported, Leeds United coach Jesse Marsch wants to sign the next ex-Red Bull player. Hee-Chan Hwang from Wolverhampton Wanderers would therefore be high on the wish list.

The 26-year-old South Korean played 43 games for Red Bull Salzburg and RB Leipzig under Marsch, scoring 16 goals and providing 24 assists. Hwang landed at Wolverhampton via Leipzig in the summer of 2021 – the 47-time South Korean national striker scored five times in 35 games for the “Wolves”.

Hwang would not be Marsch’s first acquisition with a Red Bull background. Previously, the Americans signed Rasmus Kristensen (Red Bull Salzburg, 13 million euros), Brenden Aaronson (Red Bull Salzburg, 33 million euros) and Tyler Adams (RB Leipzig, 17 million euros). In addition, ex-Red Bull Salzburg assistant coach Rene Maric hired in the summer.

There were also rumors about Mergim Berisha, Junior Adamu and Mohamed Camara, all of whom were or are currently playing in Salzburg.
