Glazer family reportedly name purchase price for the club

The Glazer family are reportedly ready to sell Manchester United. However, a buyer would have to put the insane sum of over ten billion US dollars on the table.

He reports that DailyStar. Accordingly, the American owner family, who bought the club in 2005, have no desire to sell the club. With an offer for the round sum of ten billion dollars – the equivalent of over nine billion pounds or 10.3 billion euros – the Glazers would be willing to talk.

With such a price tag, the Red Devils would be the most expensive sports club on the planet – by far. The magazine forbes had just estimated the value of the 50 most valuable sports teams in September. The Dallas Cowboys from the NFL landed on the place in the sun with 7.87 billion euros.

ManUnited was valued at €4.53 billion and ranked 19th, behind Real Madrid (€5.02 billion, 13th) and FC Barcelona (€4.92 billion, 15th).

Chelsea FC was sold to a US consortium led by businessman Todd Boehly for almost three billion euros in the spring. It’s hard to imagine that United would make more than triple that on a sale. In addition, Jim Ratcliffe, Britain’s richest man, recently expressed interest in the Red Devils. However, the Glazers would not have been interested in a sale.

For the most part, Manchester fans would not object to a sale. They accuse the Glazers of siphoning off large sums of money from the club every year and not investing enough in the team and the dilapidated Old Trafford stadium. Last season, the club’s balance sheet showed a minus of 132.2 million euros, now the club has debts of almost 600 million euros.

In terms of sport, United are no longer at the top of the Premier League. The last championship title dates back to 2012/13, when they suffered a bitter 6-3 defeat against city rivals Manchester City in early October.
