“I can’t forbid dreaming”

Agent Mino Raiola has fueled speculation that Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba will leave. The world champion’s contract expires next summer and because after tough negotiations it does not currently look like an extension for Pogba, there are sometimes fierce speculation about a change.

Raiola contributed to this RAI: “December is the month of dreams … and I can’t stop dreams. But that’s all I want to say about Paul.”

But then he teased Gary Neville and Paul Scholes. The two United legends had criticized Pogba several times in their role as TV experts: “If some former ManUnited players stop talking about me and Paul, then they are unemployed.”

From January, Raiola and Pogba are expected to officially negotiate with other clubs. Raiola left it open whether it would come to that. Although he said, “It’s too early to talk about Paul’s contract. We’ll see what happens. I can’t forbid anyone from dreaming.”

Three well-known clubs are said to have already positioned themselves for a transfer of the 28-year-old: Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, which had already wanted to sign him in the past, as well as his ex-club Juventus Turin.

From the Bianconeri, Pogba moved to United in 2016 for the then record transfer fee of 105 million euros. There he seldom fulfilled the high expectations over a long period of time. With United, the strategist won the Europa League and the English League Cup in those four and a half years.

In the current season Pogba completed 13 competitive games in which he got seven assists. He is currently absent due to a thigh injury that will put him out of action at least until the end of the year.
