Harry Kane Tottenham 2022-23

In view of the persistent rumors about a possible departure of star striker Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur to FC Bayern, Spurs coach Ange Postecoglou has now commented on the matter again and formulated a hope.

“It’s fair to say that I don’t take it lightly. ‘Ah, okay, it doesn’t matter whether it happens or not…’ You know, he’s an important part of our whole club, not just the team,” Postecoglou began his remarks to reporters on Friday.

“I think – and that goes for everyone involved – that we don’t want to continue this for too long. I don’t think that would be good for anyone, not for Harry, not for the club.” However, Postecoglou conceded: “On the other hand, I don’t want to set a deadline either because that would create even more pressure. You want these things to go the right way. The truth is he’s still a player with our club and that’s how I see him.”

At the same time, the coach clarified: “It’s not like his contract ends on August 12 and he has to make a decision. He has a year left on his contract. That’s why I’m not relaxed, but I’m not putting pressure on him or anyone else. But I don’t think any of us want this story to go on for too long.”

Tottenham Hotspur: Harry Kane rejects contract extension

According to the latest media reports, Harry Kane has decided to join Bayern Munich and club boss Daniel Levy has already announced that he will not extend his contract, which expires in 2024. At the same time, however, Kane does not want to force a change by hook or by crook so as not to jeopardize his good relationship with his heart club and the fans. Accordingly, Levy is now faced with the decision to sell Kane to Munich for a high transfer fee this year – we are talking about more than 100 million euros – or to lose him for free in a year.

According to a report by sky The club management around board boss Jan-Christian Dreesen and technical director Marco Neppe will continue to work on the transfer of Kane and try to reach an agreement with Levy during FC Bayern’s Asia tour, which begins next week. Such is not expected before the end of the Asia trip in early August.
