Jürgen Klopp compares Mohamed Salah with Robert Lewandowski from FC Bayern

Liverpool FC manager Jürgen Klopp compared his striker Mohamed Salah with Robert Lewandowski. Klopp had trained the Pole, who recently won the Golden Shoe as Europe’s best striker, at Borussia Dortmund.

“Mo Salah is absolutely on par with him, there is no doubt about that,” said Klopp on Friday at the press conference before the Premier League game at Brentford FC on Saturday (6.30pm on LIVETICKER).

“Mo is a goal machine, his professionalism is unsurpassed and he does everything to always be in top form,” praised Klopp. “He’s the first to come and the last to leave. In addition to his technical skills, he has an unbelievable hunger for goals. It’s the same with Lewy.”

In the still young Premier League season, Salah, who mostly plays as a right winger in Liverpool’s 4-3-3 system, tops the scoring list with four goals. He is still missing one goal to make the 100 for Liverpool. Lewandowski, who worked with Klopp in Dortmund from 2010 to 2014, has seven goals in the Bundesliga season.

“Whatever you can achieve on the pitch, in the end you need someone who brings the ball over the line into the net,” said Klopp. “Mo is one of the best I’ve ever seen in that respect and he knows it. His stats are insane, I’m very fortunate to have had such good players in my career.
