Jürgen Klopp takes on Didi Hamann

Coach Jürgen Klopp took on Didi Hamann after his criticism of Liverpool FC with clear words.

“At a certain point you have to discuss the coach and I don’t know how far we are from that,” Hamann told the sports radio station talkSPORT said. Liverpool is “tired, boring and flat”. He wonders “where the spark should jump from”.

When asked about it by a journalist at the press conference before the Reds’ Champions League game at Glasgow Rangers (9 p.m. in LIVETICKER), Klopp first asked: “Who said that?”

When he heard the name Hamann, he was amused and somehow angry. “Oh great! He’s a fantastic source. He’s very respected everywhere,” said the 55-year-old with a good dose of sarcasm.

Then Klopp added that even a former Liverpool player does not have the right “to say what you want – especially if you have no idea”. Hamann “didn’t deserve that you used his words to ask me a question,” Klopp replied to the journalist.

Liverpool are in a crisis. The Reds have just ten points from eight games and are a disappointing tenth in the Premier League.
