Jürgen Klopp takes on referees and journalists

Jürgen Klopp let his anger run free after Liverpool’s 3-2 defeat at West Ham United. First the Reds coach buttoned the referee, then journalists were due.

“I don’t know what players have to do before a foul against a keeper is called. How should he catch the ball when someone pushes his arm away? That makes no sense,” Klopp rumbled Sky Sports UK.

The 54-year-old alluded to the early own goal by Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson (4th), which was not withdrawn despite VAR review. For Klopp and many experts, it is indeed a questionable decision.

When Klopp was asked by a reporter which decision he did not agree with, the latter reacted sluggishly. “I’m not sure if I want to answer this question if you don’t know the situations I’m talking about. Don’t you think it was a foul on Alisson? Is it your job not to have an opinion? Okay , that’s great, “said Klopp.

When asked whether West Ham’s Aaron Cresswell foul on Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson should have been a red card, he was no less annoyed: “My God, I’m not your dog. I hope you all have your own opinion.”

With their first Premier League defeat this season, Liverpool slipped to fourth place. However, they are only four points behind leaders Chelsea.
