Klopp assistant Lijnders also tested positive

After team manager Jürgen Klopp, his assistant Pep Lijnders was also infected with the corona virus. This was announced by Liverpool on Wednesday.

The press conference for the first leg in the League Cup semi-finals at Arsenal FC, which was scheduled for Thursday (8.45 p.m. LIVE on DAZN), has therefore been canceled. Lijnders last represented Klopp in the Premier League in a rousing 2-2 at Champions League winners Chelsea.

The Reds had already requested the postponement of the cup game in London on Tuesday. A decision is still pending.

An infection was detected in goalkeeper Alisson Becker, offensive player Roberto Firmino and central defender Joel Matip. There are also other suspected cases. Thiago, Takumi Minamino, Nat Phillips and Harvey Elliott are also injured. Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Naby Keita are preparing for the Africa Cup.
