Maria KeaneThe English second division club Wigan Athletic has separated from team manager Kolo Touré (41) after only two months. The club announced this on Thursday. In nine competitive games, the former top defender remained without a win and slipped to last place in the league.
The Ivorian signed a three-and-a-half-year contract in November. However, the 2-0 home defeat by Luton Town at the weekend was too much for the former Premier League club.
It was Touré’s first coaching post after ending his active career in 2017. Who will be his successor is currently still completely open.
