Liverpool coach Jürgen Klopp was upset about the Reds’ tight schedule after his team’s 2-0 win in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Villarreal.
“When I see the colleagues from BT Sports sitting here and how they’re talking: ‘And on Saturday at 12.30 Newcastle against Liverpool’, I could go straight to the studio and slap them all,” Klopp said after the game DAZN.
It’s crazy that “we have no idea how many hours we have to go there. And two days later we have to go back to Villarreal,” the Reds coach rumbled on. Nevertheless, Liverpool wanted to master this challenge “as well as possible”. “We’re trying to help the lads keep the freshness.”
That’s why he can’t “think about any titles at all” at the moment, although it’s “already been a great season so far”.
As the rights holder of the Premier League decides BT Sports in England’s top division for matchday and kick-off timing. Klopp had already denounced the tight schedule of the PL clubs in the past. TV contracts should be adjusted to reality, according to the LFC trainer.
