Man United pro Mason Greenwood remains free on bail

After serious allegations of violence from his girlfriend, England international Mason Greenwood (20) will remain free on bail until mid-June. This was announced by the Manchester police on Friday.

Greenwood, a Manchester United professional, was arrested in January on suspicion of rape, sexual assault and death threats and was released on bail after four days in custody. This would have expired on Saturday.

A new hearing was scheduled for mid-June. Greenwood’s girlfriend posted photos and audio recordings on Instagram on January 30th. It showed some bleeding injuries and bruises on the young woman’s body – and apparently Greenwood also heard how the Red Devils’ young star wants to force his partner to engage in sexual activity. The postings in which Greenwood was clearly named as the perpetrator were deleted shortly afterwards.

The English record champions ManUnited, trained by the German team manager Ralf Rangnick, had released the player from training and games “until further notice” and announced that the matter would be examined. Sporting goods manufacturer Nike also suspended its cooperation with Greenwood.
