Manchester United are apparently making an offer for Eintracht Frankfurt's Kevin Trapp

Is a spectacular transfer surprise looming? As the picture-Zeitung reports that Manchester United are very interested in Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp.

Accordingly, the English record champions have already made an offer for the 32-year-old. The report made no mention of the amount of the offer.

Trapp is under contract with the Europa League winner until 2024. With strong performances in the previous season, Trapp played a key role in Hessen’s European triumph. In addition, Trapp belongs to the circle of goalkeepers who can hope for a World Cup nomination.

In order to actually get this chance, however, Trapp has to play. Whether this possibility exists at Manchester United is unclear. While Trapp is the undisputed number one in Frankfurt, he would have to compete with the Spaniard David De Gea at United.

Kevin Trapp played for PSG for three years

Trapp already gained experience at a well-known top European club during his time at Paris Saint-Germain, between 2015 and 2018 he played for PSG and also played twelve Champions League games. He would not have the chance to play in the premier class at United, the club is only starting in the Europa League this season.

However, it is an open secret that Manchester is looking for a new goalkeeper. After Dean Henderson’s loan to Nottingham Forest, there is a gap behind de Gea, with the only other goalkeeper in the squad so far being Englishman Tom Heaton. Recently there had already been reports of an interest in Yann Sommer from Borussia Mönchengladbach, and Odysseas Vlachodimos (Benfica) should also be on the list of those responsible.
