Manchester United are apparently monitoring Rafael Leão's situation

Manchester United apparently have their eye on a new signing for the offensive. Rafael Leão from AC Milan is said to be on the list.

Manchester United apparently have their eye on a prominent new signing for the offensive. Like the english one Mirror reported, the Red Devils are closely monitoring Rafael Leão’s situation at AC Milan. Coach Erik ten Hag is said to be a big advocate of the 23-year-old Portuguese and sent extra scouts to watch Leão in the Champions League against Chelsea.

Leão could succeed United’s Cristiano Ronaldo, whose contract expires next year and who was desperate to leave last summer. The five-time world footballer is now part of ten Hag’s extended permanent staff again, but his future beyond the current season is still in question.

Rafael Leão: Chelsea should also be interested

Interest from top clubs in Leão is not new. Chelsea were already considered interested in the last transfer window, but Milan reportedly demanded a transfer fee of around 100 million euros. Leão’s contract in Milan runs until 2024, talks about an extension have so far been unsuccessful.

After an outstanding pre-season, when Leão was instrumental in the Rossoneri’s league title, the attacking player has continued to shine this season. In Serie A he has eight goals in eight games, in the Champions League it was three points in four games.
