ManCity in a record mood: 7-0 against Leeds

With a runaway win, England champions Manchester City continued their successful streak in the Premier League and extended the championship lead.

The team around national player Ilkay Gündogan finished Leeds United 7-0 (3-0) and not only celebrated the seventh win in a row in the league, but also the 33rd in the calendar year.

City set the record for Liverpool FC from 1982.

Phil Foden scored the 1-0 in the eighth minute – it was the 500th Premier League goal for Manchester under team manager Pep Guardiola. The Catalan is the coach who has reached this mark fastest in league history, namely in 207 games. Then Jack Grealish (13th), Kevin De Bruyne (32nd / 62nd), Riyad Mahrez (49th), John Stones (74th) and Nathan Ake (78th) increased the result.

For the time being, Manchester have four points ahead of Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool FC, who will only meet Newcastle United on Thursday (9:00 p.m.).
