Romelu Lukaku apologizes for statements made in the interview

After his interview statements and the subsequent removal from the Chelsea squad, striker Romelu Lukaku (28) spoke in a video published by the PL club and apologized for his behavior.

“I would like to apologize to the fans for the trouble,” said Lukaku in a video message posted on the Chelsea club website on Tuesday evening.

The 28-year-old revised his statements that he could imagine switching back to Serie A to Inter Milan. “You know the connection I’ve had with this club since my teenage days. I can understand that you’re upset,” said the Belgian.

In the future, he wanted to “do my best every day to bring my performance on the training pitch and to ensure that we win games.” It was “not the right moment” for the statements, said Lukaku.

At the turn of the year, the striker had an interview Sky Sport Italia caused a stir. In it he criticized his role under blues coach Thomas Tuchel and his general situation in the club.

Tuchel: thing “not as big as some people would like it to be”

Tuchel then deleted Lukaku from the squad for the Premier League match against Liverpool (2-2). After a clarifying discussion with the trainer, the discrepancies are said to have been put aside again. The matter is “not as big as some people would like it to be,” said Tuchel.

Only last summer, the Belgian international moved from Italy to London for 115 million euros. Lukaku has scored seven goals in 18 games this season. He opened two more goals.
