Steven Gerrard tested positive for the coronavirus. The Aston Villa coach misses Boxing Day of the Premier League.

As his club announced, Gerrard will have to pass the upcoming game against Leeds United as he will still be in quarantine on Tuesday (December 28).

There had recently been numerous corona outbreaks in the Premier League, for example Aston Villa had to cancel its match against Burnley FC, which was originally scheduled for December 18. It is one of 13 games for which the league is currently looking for catch-up dates.
