SV Elversberg has ended its low form in the 3rd league and is about to be promoted to the 2nd league. The leader defeated newly promoted SpVgg Bayreuth 5:2 (4:2) despite being 2-0 down and leads the table three games before the end with 70 points.
Manuel Feil (15th), Semih Sahin (24th), Luca Dürholtz (45th) and Luca Schnellbacher (45th + 3) turned the game around with four goals in the first round after the 0:2. Jannik Rochelt (64th) scored the fifth SVE goal. Eroll Zejnullahu (9th) and Benedikt Kirsch (12th) made it 2-0 for the Franconians.
In the top game of the promotion aspirants, Dynamo Dresden won against SV Wehen Wiesbaden 3:1 (1:1). Ahmet Arslan (11th) gave the Saxons the lead, but Ivan Prtajin (14th, penalty kick) quickly equalized for SVWW. Goals from Niklas Hauptmann (70′) and Jakob Lemmer (80′) secured the three points for Dresden, which moved up to third place ahead of Wehen (both 63 points).
SC Freiburg II, who are not allowed to be promoted, are in second place with 64 points after the 0-1 (0-0) loss at 1860 Munich. Fifth is VfL Osnabrück (60), who can also still get into the promotion race.
FSV Zwickau averted the threat of relegation after beating Waldhof Mannheim 3-1 (0-1). With 31 points, the FSV gave the Red Lantern to Bayreuth, but the signs for the FSV are relegation. Dominik Martinovic (11th) put the Palatinate in the lead, but Noel Eichinger (50th) managed to equalize for Zwickau. Dominic Baumann (60th, penalty kick / 70th) was responsible for the other goals of the Saxons.
3rd league: Big point for HFC in the relegation battle
Hallesche FC won against FC Ingolstadt 1-0 (0-0) and also achieved an important success in the relegation battle. SV Meppen also got a three-pointer by beating Rot-Weiss Essen 2-0 (1-0), but the chances of staying up in the league are still modest despite the third three-pointers in a row.
MSV Duisburg had eliminated the last doubts about staying up in the league on Friday. The former Bundesliga club defeated Erzgebirge Aue 3-0 (1-0). The Zebras are unbeaten in five games.
