SV Elversberg continues to do lonely circles as leaders in the 3rd division. On the 22nd matchday, the Saarlanders prevailed 3-0 (2-0) against newly promoted VfB Oldenburg. Nick Woltemade (8th/17th) scored twice for SVE, who celebrated their fourth win in a row. Jannik Rochelt (54th) scored the third goal in Elversberg. The lead over SC Freiburg II in second place is eleven points.
The Breisgauer came to a 3:1 (1:1) at bottom Hallescher FC. After two defeats, 1. FC Saarbrücken achieved a hard-fought 2-1 (1-1) at Borussia Dortmund II. Dynamo Dresden also scored three points with a 3-2 (2-1) win at SC Verl.
Jonas Nietfeld (28th) gave the HFC a 1-0 lead, and Andi Hoti (35th) was responsible for Freiburg’s equalizer. Vincent Vermeij (55th) and Lars Kehl (72nd) scored the other goals for the Breisgauer.
Niklas Dams (13th) put BVB’s second team ahead. After BVB keeper Marcel Lotka parried a hand penalty from Julius Biada (37′), Luca Kerber (45’+2) equalized for FCS. Richard Neudecker (85th) secured the three points for the former Bundesliga club.
In Verl, the hosts took the lead through Joel Grodowski (12th), but Ahmet Arslan (29th) and Dennis Borkowski (41st) initially turned the tide in favor of the Saxons. Maximilian Wolfram (68′) made it 2-2, but Jakob Lemmer (90′) made Dynamo’s success perfect.
3rd league: resounding victory for Duisburg
MSV Duisburg won 4-0 (2-0) against FSV Zwickau, while SV Meppen won 2-1 (1-1) against 1860 Munich.
Waldhof Mannheim failed in the promotion race on Friday. After six games without defeat, coach Christian Neidhart’s team lost 1:2 (0:2) at the relegation candidates Erzgebirge Aue.
