3rd league: Wehen wins after a 0:2 deficit

SV Wehen Wiesbaden showed great morale in the promotion race of the 3rd division. The Hessen came against relegation candidate FSV Zwickau after a 0:2 deficit to a hard-fought 4:3 (0:2) and consolidated third place.

Dominic Baumann (25th) and Maximilian Jansen (33rd) gave the Saxons a 2-0 lead. In the second half, John Iredale (47′) and Max Reinthaler (53′) equalized, but Baumann (59′) brought FSV back into the lead again.

Johannes Wurtz (73rd) scored to equalize again, and Brooklyn Ezeh (89th) made the third win in a row perfect for the promotion aspirant.

With 56 points, the SVWW moved closer to second-placed SC Freiburg II (59 points), who are not allowed to move up. Freiburg lost 0:2 (0:1) to newly promoted Rot-Weiss Essen. Simon Engelmann (43rd) was successful after a penalty kick in the margin. Ron Berlinski (49th) increased to 2:0.

Viktoria Köln scored 2-1 (0-1) against SC Verl. Erzgebirge Aue won against VfB Oldenburg 1-0 (0-0). Borussia Dortmund II managed only one zero number against Hallesche FC in the basement duel.

SpVgg Bayreuth celebrated their second win in a row on Friday. The southern Germans won 3-0 (1-0) against bottom SV Meppen. Most recently, Upper Franconia had already surprisingly beaten the promotion candidate Dynamo Dresden.
