After the whistle protest: Meppen conquered third place

SV Meppen continued its upward trend in the 3rd division and made it into third place with its fourth win in a row. With the sovereign 4-0 (1-0) on matchday 16 against Viktoria Köln, the Lower Saxony also ended the opponent’s series, who had also previously won three games.

Luka Tankulic (39th / 56th) with his five and sixth goals this season, Morgan Faßbender (73rd) and former Bundesliga professional Richard Sukuta-Pasu (88th) scored the goals for Meppen’s in form, who countered successfully in their own stadium .

The game was overshadowed by a quarter of an hour break: in protest against the Monday games being held, part of the Meppen appendix had loudly drawn attention to itself with whistles before kick-off.

After unsuccessful intervention by the club’s officials, referee Florian Exner interrupted the game after a little more than ten minutes.
