A bang at the third division club 1860 Munich: Captain Sascha Mölders was suspended on Monday. As the club announced, the striker will “not be in the squad until further notice”.
After a “continuous analysis of the development of the past few weeks”, the sports management headed by coach Michael Köllner decided.
A short time later, Mölders himself spoke on Instagram. He was “shocked”, wrote the 36-year-old: “Today I was at the training area and was told that I should no longer appear for training or that I should train individually because the coach wanted me to.”
Mölders has been under contract with 1860 since 2016, his contract runs until 2022. In 18 league games for Munich this season, he has scored five goals so far. Most recently there had been two league bankruptcies in a row for the traditional club. As the Munich evening newspaper reports, Mölders is said to have clashed several times with other players and club officials.
