FC Ingolstadt only fourth after home defeat against Viktoria Köln

FC Ingolstadt slipped down to fourth place in the 3rd division after a surprising home defeat against Viktoria Köln.

The Schanzer, previously unbeaten in six games in a row, lost 1:3 (1:2) on Sunday and had to give up their third place in the table to SC Freiburg II. The Breisgauer defeated VfB Oldenburg 1-0 (0-0).

In Ingolstadt, Andre Becker (3rd), Simon Handle (31st) and David Philipp (68th) scored for Cologne, who ended their run of ten games without a win and climbed to ninth place. Ingolstadt only managed to equalize temporarily through Pascal Testroet (7th, penalty kick).

In Freiburg, Vincent Vermeij scored a penalty kick (64th) for the home win and the jump to third place. Roland Sallai, who celebrated his comeback in Freiburg’s second team almost two months after breaking his eye socket in the Bundesliga game at Bayer Leverkusen, had won the penalty.
