League leader Magdeburg shoots down Duisburg

1. FC Magdeburg has once again set an exclamation mark in the 3rd division and underpinned its promotion ambitions. The sovereign table leader won 5-0 (3-0) at the ailing MSV Duisburg and is now eleven points ahead of his closest pursuer.

This is 1. FC Saarbrucken, who won 2-0 (0-0) against Borussia Dortmund II, relegating 1. FC Kaiserslautern to third place.

However, the Palatinate played one game less and could play again on Saturday (2 p.m.) against Hallesche FC. Eintracht Braunschweig, also in fourth place in the promotion race, surprisingly dropped points at 0:1 (0:1) at FSV Zwickau.

In the table basement it remains bleak for TSV Havelse. The 0:1 (0:1) against SV Wehen Wiesbaden was the 15th defeat – in the 23rd game. The distance to the first non-relegation place is eight points, because the table-16. SC Verl did not score in the 0:1 (0:1) against SV Meppen.

In Duisburg, Tatsuya Ito (10th) gave the guests an early lead, who shortly afterwards were outnumbered after the red card against MSV professional Leo Weinkauf (23rd). The table leaders used this advantage: Tobias Müller (32nd), Connor Krempicki (45th + 4th), Baris Atik (50th) and Kai Brünker (85th) scored the other goals for Magdeburg. Duisburg, on the other hand, is still in danger of relegation as 18th.
