Third division club Wehen Wiesbaden has brought in Markus Kauczinski as their new coach. The 51-year-old, who was fired from Dynamo Dresden at the end of April, will receive a contract with seventh in the table until 2023. The club announced this on Monday. Kauczinski inherits Rüdiger Rehm (42), the long-time coach of Hessen had to leave two weeks ago.
“Markus Kauczinski is a very confident coach who has a lot of experience from the 3rd division and the 2nd Bundesliga,” said managing director Nico Schäfer. The SVWW is “convinced that it will develop and stabilize the team in order to play at the top of the league”.
On Tuesday, Kauczinski, who worked for Karlsruher SC, FC Ingolstadt and FC St. Pauli in Dresden, will lead the first training session. The new coach will make his debut in the 3rd division on November 20th at 1. FC Kaiserslautern.
