Third division club SV Wehen Wiesbaden is massively shaken by an abuse scandal involving a former junior coach.
“It is a serious and stressful process for our club,” said the club in a statement on Monday and confirmed a report by the Hessian Broadcasting (HR) to an ongoing investigation against the accused.
“The SVWW has worked closely and trustingly with the police and the public prosecutor’s office on this matter from the beginning and in full up to the present day,” the association said: “We are aware of our responsibility in dealing with the case and continue to rely on a close one Cooperation with the authorities, in which we have complete confidence. “
The Frankfurt / Main public prosecutor is investigating the suspicion of rape, sexual abuse and the production of youth pornography against the trainer, who came to Wehener U12 in the summer of 2019 and looked after this class up to U14.
The 34-year-old suspect, who had trained several other junior teams in the Rhine-Main area before joining the SVWW, has been in custody since December 9th. Investigators had already searched the man’s apartment and the club’s premises at the end of October.
