BVB probably already looking for Haaland’s successor

Erling Haaland can leave Borussia Dortmund next summer thanks to an exit clause. According to media reports, this amounts to between 75 and 90 million euros.

Like in Sport1Podcast “The Dortmund Week” has now been uncovered, BVB is already intensively looking for a successor to the Norwegian. Allegedly, around 30 scouts should be on the lookout for a striker who meets various criteria.

Accordingly, the new striker should be between 19 and 24 years old and in the best case a “bargain” in the category of the Haaland transfer at the time. He moved from Salzburg to the Ruhr area in winter 2020 for a rumored 20 million euros.

However, the search for a lucrative Haaland replacement in this price segment is difficult, which is why BVB is ready to take between 30 and 40 million euros in hand.

However, the search should only become more intensive in winter, when Haaland’s future has been clarified. Then “more in-depth exploratory talks” with adviser Mino Raiola and father Alf-Inge should take place.

Borussia has not yet completely lost hope of the 21-year-old’s whereabouts. “It’s not really decided whether he’ll go in the summer. Let’s wait and see,” said managing director Hans-Joachim Watzke in the Sport1-Double pass and pushed: “The key is only with Erling, he alone decides.”

BVB: Wild rumors about Anthony Martial

In the search for a potential successor to Erling Haaland, Borussia Dortmund is said to have already targeted several strikers.

Like the portal, among other things 90min reported, Manchester United would like to offset Anthony Martial in a Haaland deal. The Frenchman is on the sidelines with the Red Devils and last played hardly a role under coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The 25-year-old’s contract runs until 2024. How Sport1 reported United would charge between 50 and 55 million for Martial. The biggest problem, however, would be the salary of the versatile attacker.

According to rumors, Martial should earn around 15 million euros annually, which would significantly exceed the BVB’s salary structure.

the Daily Mail claims, however, that BVB would be vying for talent Reyes Cleary from West Bromwich Albion. In addition to Dortmund, the 17-year-old also impressed TSG Hoffenheim and Schalke 04 with his performances in the U18.

In addition to the German clubs, there should also be interest from the Premier League and Serie A. The striker, who has six goals in four games, is somewhat reminiscent of Romelu Lukaku’s stature.

Sport1 reports, on the other hand, that BVB is said to have put out its feelers to the Nice duo Kasper Dolberg and Amine Gouiri and would be closely monitoring their development.

According to the report, Noni Madueke from PSV Eindhoven is also interesting for Dortmund. However, the 19-year-old is more at home on the wings and would therefore be a belated replacement for Jadon Sancho (Manchester United). Accordingly, the Dutch are demanding up to 40 million euros for the young Englishman.

BVB: Matthäus criticizes Deniz Aytekin

Record international player Lothar Matthäus also got involved in the debate about Mahmoud Dahoud’s dismissal in the 0-1 defeat of Borussia Dortmund against Borussia Mönchengladbach.

The decision to show the midfielder yellow-red was excessive. “Kindergarten,” wrote the 60-year-old in his Sky-Column and added: “Of course, Dortmund could have acted a little more cleverly and omitted the gesture to referee Deniz Aytekin. But that was neither disrespectful nor totally sporty and in no way deserved this tough consistency for me.”

Aytekin lacked the necessary instinct. “Neither his subsequent explanation nor the action on the pitch did not convince me,” added Matthäus: “And just because the referee told another player in a previous scene that he would like to refrain from waving his hand, he can in one completely different scene don’t punish a player so harshly. Especially not in a game like this, with such explosiveness. I expect something different. “

The performance of the referee had created a lot of discussion afterwards. BVB boss Hans-Joachim Watzke explained in the One-twothat Aytekin had behaved like “a bandmaster”. Sports director Michael Zorc put in the image after, while the referee reacted in a clear manner.

According to Matthew, Aytekin would already regret the scene. He was “actually known for his instinct and the right nose for the respective situation,” said the TV expert and added: “A little bit of emotion may still be there if you feel that you have been treated unfairly.”
