Assists for Erling Haaland? Thomas Müller gives a curious answer

Thomas Müller currently has an outstanding 238 assists in 610 competitive games for FC Bayern Munich. His main customer in the record champion’s storm center is currently Robert Lewandowski. The 32-year-old denied whether he would like to score BVB striker Erling Haaland – with a curious comparison.

“Would you like to feed Erling Haaland templates as a teammate?” Müller asked in an interview sports picture asked. He replied, “I prefer to feed my horses and rabbits.”

The background to the question was, on the one hand, the still unclear future of Müller himself due to his contract expiring in 2023. On the other hand, there have been various transfer rumors surrounding the exceptional BVB striker for months, according to which FC Bayern could also be a possible buyer for Haaland next summer, because Lewandowski’s contract also expires in the summer of 2023. However, a move by the Norwegian abroad is considered much more likely.

Müller doubted whether this would happen and whether the successful Munich duo Lewandowski and Müller could be separated. “Anything is possible in football, but it would certainly be surprising given how well things are going for everyone involved,” he said.

He is approaching the upcoming negotiations with the Bayern bosses about a contract extension “very calmly and at the same time confidently”. From the club’s side, however, “no one has approached me yet. So you have to see what the future will bring”.
