Bayer Leverkusen have to do without Karim Bellarabi for three weeks

Bayer Leverkusen have to do without offensive player Karim Bellarabi for around three weeks. The 31-year-old injured the muscle shell in his right thigh when he won the cup at the regional division 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig (3-0).

The club announced on Sunday after an MRI examination. Before his substitution, Bellarabi had scored the goal to make it 2-0.

The use of Florian Wirtz at Union Berlin on Saturday (3:30 p.m. / Sky) is also questionable. The 18-year-old (muscular problems) expanded the list of injured shortly before the cup game kicked off.

“We are aware that this is not yet the position to make a good Bundesliga game,” said new coach Gerardo Seoane after his successful competitive debut with Bayer.
