Bayer Leverkusen sign Ecuadorian central defender Hincapie

Maria KeaneBundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen has secured the services of the Ecuadorian national player Piero Hincapie. The 19-year-old central defender comes from the Argentine first division club CA Talleres from Cordoba and signed a contract until June 30, 2026.
The factory club announced on Monday. According to kicker, eight million euros were due for the transfer.
“We are very happy that we have been able to win Piero Hincapie, a young but already very self-confident central defender with initial international experience,” said sporting director Simon Rolfes. “His very good performance against absolute world-class players at the major continental tournament in South America confirmed our assessment that Piero has a very promising future.”
Sports director Rudi Völler is also looking forward to the 1.84 m tall newcomer, whom he praised as “strong in two fights, game-intelligent and technically adept”: “This is a transfer in the spirit of Bayer Leverkusen.”
