Maria KeaneBorussia Mönchengladbach can fall back on attacker Alassane Plea on Sunday at Union Berlin (3:30 p.m.).
“He trained well this week,” said coach Adi Hütter on Friday, “I’m glad that, unlike Marcus Thuram and Stefan Lainer, he didn’t injure himself in Leverkusen and is therefore available again this weekend.”
Sports director Max Eberl has meanwhile underlined again that he wanted to keep the regular Matthias Ginter and Denis Zakaria, although there had been transfer speculations about the duo recently. It is now even possible to extend the contract.
“It is not our wish that we start the season with a player whose contract expires at the end of the season. If Ginter and Zakaria stay here, we will of course also have talks with them about extending their contract,” Eberl announced on Friday.
