Maria KeaneErling Haaland continued his impressive hunt for goals in the first game after his return and, thanks to his goal against VfL Wolfsburg, grabbed two Bundesliga records.
Haaland’s goal to make it 3-1 a few minutes after his substitution was the 50th Bundesliga match in the 50th Bundesliga game for the center forward. Haaland replaced Timo Konietzka from Dortmund, who had previously held the record for the fewest games up to the 50th Bundesliga.
Konietzka needed 63 games for this in the 1960s. Uwe Seeler and Roy Makaay both played 67 games before they could celebrate their 50th Bundesliga goals.
Haaland is now the youngest goalscorer with 50 Bundesliga goals
And Haaland snatched another record on Saturday: Now, at 21 years and 129 days, the Norwegian is the youngest player in the history of the Bundesliga to break the 50-goal mark.
The previous record holder was ex-Schalke Klaus Fischer with 21 years and 293 days, followed by the former Cologne Dieter Müller (22 years and nine days).
