BVB star Mats Hummels reacts self-critically to Dortmund's bankruptcy against FC Bayern

Mats Hummels self-critically analyzed his own performance in the BVB defeat against FC Bayern. In one of the three goals conceded from Dortmund, however, he denied any complicity.

“A very unfortunate defeat for us and an extremely busy day for me. First the big mistake before the 1-1 and then the very unfortunate penalty caused the penalty to make it 3-2,” wrote Hummels on the day after the 3-2 defeat the Bavarians at Instagram.

The 32-year-old lost the ball to Thomas Müller before Robert Lewandowski (9th) conceded Dortmund’s first goal and was also left with the national player in the subsequent running duel. His handball in the penalty area ultimately led to the much-discussed penalty, which Lewandowski (78th) converted to the final score.

Before Kingsley Coman (44th) went 2-1, Raphael Guerreiro shot Hummels in an unsuccessful liberation, causing the ball to bounce to the goalscorer. Hummels resisted accepting complicity for this hit. “I have no idea how you want to put something to the detriment of 1: 2 !?”, wrote the central defender.

BVB star Hummels: “We’ll talk to us again very soon”

“I would have liked to have helped the team, but unfortunately I didn’t manage to do that yesterday,” added Hummels and acted fiercely: “As an athlete, you define yourself primarily by how you react to (such) failures! We’ll all talk to each other again very soon. “

In a fast-paced top game against Bayern, Dortmund took the lead through Julian Brandt (5th), but Bayern turned the game around before the break. Erling Haaland (48th) managed to equalize in the meantime.
