Maria KeaneBayern Munich will have to do without captain Manuel Neuer in the Bundesliga home game against 1. FC Köln on Sunday (5.30 p.m.). “As of now, I do not assume that he will play. We have to look from day to day,” said coach Julian Nagelsmann on Friday.
The keeper suffered a capsule injury on his right ankle in the 3-1 victory of the German record champions in the Supercup at Borussia Dortmund.
“He has a small capsule problem, nothing dramatic. But it still needs rest,” said Nagelsmann. Neuer (35) was therefore also absent from the training sessions on Thursday and Friday.
Sven Ulreich, who returned to Bayern from Hamburger SV in the summer, is available as a replacement. “Sven does it well,” said Nagelsmann. Neuer played through the game against BVB on Tuesday.
Nagelsmann also has to do without Kingsley Coman against Cologne. The Frenchman is not available due to a hemorrhage in the buttocks. Coman was also injured in Dortmund. For him, Leroy Sane should be in the starting line-up.
