Christian Günter is now Freiburg’s record player

Christian Günter became SC Freiburg’s record player in the Bundesliga on Saturday. The defender completed his 237th appearance in the dress of the Breisgauer in the upper house of football in the 2-1 win against DFB Cup winners Borussia Dortmund.

Günter overtakes Andreas Zeyer, who played 236 games for Freiburg in eight seasons. Zeyer held the record for a total of 17 years and 91 days.
