Darwin Nunez to succeed Erling Haaland?

BVB is apparently still preparing for a possible Haaland exit. Benfica’s Nunez is said to be a candidate.

Borussia Dortmund has apparently chosen Benfica striker Darwin Nunez (22) as a possible successor to Erling Haaland. That reports Record.

The Portuguese daily also published a photo showing BVB chief scout Markus Pilawa together with Nunez advisor Edgardo Lasalvia.

Nunez, who is under contract with the Portuguese until 2025 and is said to have a release clause of 150 million euros, scored eleven goals in 16 matches across all competitions this season and prepared two more.

BVB: Atletico and Milan are probably on Benfica’s Nunez too

In the race for the Uruguayan international (six internationals, two goals), BVB is facing considerable competition, as AC Milan and Atletico Madrid are also said to be interested.

Nunez, who comes from the youth of the Uruguayan club Penarol, moved to Benfica in the summer of 2020 for 24 million euros after an engagement at UD Almeria in Spain.
