Dennis Aogo has criticized Borussia Dortmund’s squad planning. The reason: BVB has no alternative to the currently injured Erling Haaland.

“An Erling Haaland can’t play every game at the highest level. You have to have a qualitative alternative that can bridge the time. But I don’t see that in the squad,” said Aogo Sky.

The 34-year-old added: “You have to ask management what the squad planning looked like. Option A is Erling Haaland – but what is behind it?”

Haaland scored nine of Dortmund’s 27 goals in just six games in the current Bundesliga season. In addition, the Norwegian prepared four hits. The second best BVB goalscorer so far is Raphael Guerreiro with three stalls.

The alternatives for coach Marco Rose are Donyell Malen, 23-year-old Steffen Tigges and 16-year-old Youssoufa Moukoko, and Thorgan Hazard has also played in the storm. Tigges scored his first Bundesliga goal in BVB’s 2-0 win over 1. FC Köln at the weekend, Moukoko not yet scored in eight competitive games this season.

Aogo draws a comparison with FC Bayern

How long Haaland will not be available to BVB with his hip flexor injury is unclear. Licensed player director Sebastian Kehl explained in the image only that they hope for a comeback this year.

“Bayern have alternatives with Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Thomas Müller to rotate – I don’t see that at BVB,” said Aogo.

Aogo played in the Bundesliga for Freiburg, Hamburg, Schalke, Stuttgart and Hanover. He also ran twelve times for the German national team.
