Maria KeaneBundesliga club Borussia Dortmund wants attacker Erling Haaland to stay with a hefty salary increase. That reports the Sports picture.
Accordingly, the Norwegian would then be able to earn up to 16 million euros over the year instead of around eight million euros. Haaland would be the new top earner at BVB – well ahead of captain Marco Reus, who is said to earn around twelve million euros per year.
Haaland can leave the black and yellow after the current season due to a release clause. Managing director Hans-Joachim Watzke recently confirmed Real Madrid’s interest.
But Watzke also indicated that they have not yet given up staying in Haaland and that a salary increase is definitely part of the plan. “A player must always be satisfied. We will also talk about what we are planning in terms of personnel, perhaps independently of him. And also what we are planning with him, maybe there will be 2.50 euros more,” said BVB opposite to image.
If Haaland leaves: Haller or Schick to BVB?
Should Haaland nevertheless decide to change, Borussia has, according to the Sports picture two successors in view. One candidate is the former Frankfurt Sebastien Haller, who is currently playing big at Ajax. The Dutch are demanding at least 40 million euros for the 27-year-old.
The second name is Patrik Schick, who scored 16 times for Bayer Leverkusen in 14 league games in the first half of the Bundesliga. The Czech was scouted intensively by BVB years ago, but would be even more expensive than Haller.
