Bundesliga: BVB: "Weeks" without Haaland

Erling Haaland will probably no longer be available to Borussia Dortmund in 2021. This is indicated by statements from the father of the BVB striker.

“It would be a bonus if he could play a few more games before Christmas. But that is rather unlikely,” said Haaland senior to the Norwegian TV broadcaster TV2. In view of the situation, he is doing “relatively well,” said Alf-Inge Haaland.

The BVB striker is missing from Borussia since the 4-0 defeat in the first leg at Ajax Amsterdam. There he sustained an injury to the hip flexor of his left thigh. After a short trip to his Norwegian homeland, Haaland is now back in Dortmund to continue his rehab.

BVB sports director Michael Zorc had previously said on the sidelines of the Bundesliga match against 1. FC Köln (2-0) that it would be “a few more weeks” until Haaland’s comeback.

However, Zorc expressed the hope that the striker could play again this year. Haaland is also one of the most accurate players in Europe this season. In his six appearances so far in 2021/22, he scored nine goals and put on four more hits.
