"Everything was written in ruins"

BVB sports director Michael Zorc has denounced media coverage of his club in the past few days. In his opinion, Borussia Dortmund was approached too hard.

“It’s almost bizarre that everyone is now talking about a top game, even though we were criticized so harshly before the Wolfsburg game,” said Zorc WAZ With regard to Dortmund’s top Bundesliga match against FC Bayern Munich on Saturday (6.30 p.m. in LIVETICKER).

“It went – in the way – often beyond what is to be accepted. For me it is about condemning, everything was written in ruins by many a medium,” added the 59-year-old.

While in the second place in the table with a win against Bayern could oust the record champions from first place, things went anything but smooth in the Champions League. Last week, a 3-1 defeat at Sporting Lisbon sealed the qualifying round in the premier class.

Zorc described missing the last sixteen in the Champions League as “naturally very disappointing”. “When I see our injury problems, I’m almost surprised how many points we already have in the league. Borussia Dortmund has won 17 of the last 20 games in the league,” emphasized the BVB sports director, highlighting the performance in the youngest 3: 1 success at VfL Wolfsburg.
